Update: 07/22/20
We are OPEN!
We have been having BOTH in-person and online services since the gathering restrictions were lifted in Dallas county in May!
Although we are still limiting the total capacity in our sanctuary, in order to maintain physical distancing, we welcome those who’d like to attend in-person to register and join us!
It would be great if you would please register, but know that we will set aside some of our available seating for walk-ups as well! Thanks to our wonderful CCI staff and several amazing CCI’ers with servant’s hearts – we are able to livestream an engaging online gathering to encourage hearts in worshipping Jesus! Much time and preparation goes into leading us in song to help us turn our hearts toward heaven and a timely, life-giving Word from God’s Word to help us all connect and grow in the Spirit!
As we continue to monitor the situation we will keep you updated regarding our Sunday service.
We love you all and ask God’s gracious protection for you and your families’ well-being. We pray for healing and strength and provision for anyone who has been affected as they deal with the impact of this difficult season. Let’s all ASK together for God’s people to humble ourselves and PRAY and turn from our wicked ways for healing!
Update: 07/02/20
Dear CCI family,
The Elders of CCI would like to update the guidance about face coverings. Throughout Scripture, followers of Jesus are called to sacrificially love each other. We are encouraged to lay down our freedoms for the sake of others [Rom 14, 1 Cor 8]. With this in mind, CCI leaders are requesting everyone who can (where medical condition does not prohibit) to please wear a face covering (e.g. mask, bandana, scarf, etc.) while inside the church building on Sunday. We understand that this may not be your preference and may involve some discomfort and sacrifice. Thank you for serving and loving others in this way.
We really need all who plan to attend in person to PLEASE REGISTER HERE so we will have an accurate count for occupancy sake.
We love you all and look forward to worshipping Jesus with you in person or online!
We will continue to monitor this situation and keep you updated regarding next weeks’ Sunday service.
We love you all and ask God’s gracious protection for you and your families’ well-being and for all those who have been affected by this virus. We also are praying for our beloved medical community as they deal with the impact of this crisis. Let’s all ASK together for healing and a cure from heaven!
Update: 03/19/20
Greetings beloved family!
During these unprecedented times of global upheaval, with complex challenges happening in real time, Psalm 91 reminds us that we have a reliable refuge available for us to run to: “my God, in Him I will trust.”
“Sometimes when we get overwhelmed we forget how big God is.” -AW Tozer
IT’S A DAY OF OPPORTUNITY FOR JESUS’ PEOPLE:
Let’s be light and salt to everyone around us! The entire world is being prompted to the reality of how very fragile and fleeting life is – on this side of eternity – for every one of us. Although this fact is not new, the circumstances awakening the world to this truth are new. At the same time, our calling as “all-in” followers who are trusting Jesus, remains the same in all circumstances:
1 Thess 5:18; Phil 4:4, 6; Eph 5:20 – give thanks, rejoice & pray in all circumstances
2 Timothy 4:5 – But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist,
fulfill your ministry.
Romans 8:28 – And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who
love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
CCI SUNDAY SERVICE:
We will continue THIS SUNDAY to have our ONLINE SERVICE at 10am!
Lord willing, I will be bringing a message of hope and encouragement.
PRAY:
Because we are continuing to pray and ask God for a supernatural cure from heaven and a turning away of this COVID-19 virus in our land, according to 2 Chronicles 7:14, we have decided to make decisions on a week to week basis instead of making blanket decisions for what is yet to unfold. Let’s pray for the Church [Matt 5:14]; Lost [Luke 19:10; Acts 26:18; Rom 10:1]; Healing [Ps 103:3]; Financial Needs [Phil 4:19] Faith-filled trust [Isaiah 41:10].
May we all learn together how to respond prayerfully, wisely and graciously with each turn in the road. We are THANKFUL to know Jesus is with us until the end of the age [Matt 28:20] – we are NOT ALONE!
WHAT WE CAN DO:
MANY are being significantly affected financially by this health and economic crisis. We get to practice generosity with our treasure and our time to support those who are facing difficulties.
a. CCI has a Benevolence Fund for our members – in addition to your tithe, you can give online specifically to benevolence. Click on the GIVE tab and select benevolence on the drop down menu. This fund is quite low at this time, so an infusing of funds will allow our church family to help those in need. If you know of a significant financial need there is a form that will need to be filled out for our team to review.
b. We are partnering with Cityscape Schools in old East Dallas and Pleasant Grove to provide two “grab & go” meals per day for children 18 years and younger. Many of the students are on free and reduced lunches, so with them being out of school, we want to make sure they are getting meals!
Right now our plan is to set up a Drive-Up site at CCI beginning this coming Monday. We’d like to serve meals in SoDal as well. We will start with 250 sack-meals. This number could increase depending on how many children utilize this service.
We will need a team to pick them up where the meals are being prepared on East Grand Avenue. We will also need a team to distribute meals Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 1pm.
IF you are interested in being a “champion” who would like to coordinate and facilitate this team of volunteers for this brand new ministry…PLEASE CLICK HERE to email us with your contact information.
FILL YOUR HEART WITH TRUTH:
Stay in the Word of God. Meditate on it. Watch some previous messages we have archived at your convenience: cci.church/messages As a member of CCI you have full access to wonderful spiritual resources for adults and children that will build your faith in these difficult times. RIGHTNOW MEDIA is a great resource. If you are a member and don’t currently have access, PLEASE CLICK HERE and you will be emailed a link for you to sign up! We’d also like to recommend the https://www.first15.org which is a daily devotional written by a friend of ours, Craig Denison.
Let’s continue to cast our cares on the Lord knowing He cares for us. As the body of Christ at CCI, let’s all be sensitive to ways that we can love one another, reach out to one another and to be available to care for one another by bearing one another’s burdens. Thank you for the ways you are each stepping up to care for one another!
So grateful to be in this together WITH YOU ALL,
Brad [for the CCI Elders and Staff Team]
Update: 03/13/20
In light of COVID-19 and the request from the Dallas mayor and city officials, and after much prayer and wise counsel from a variety of voices from our leadership team, we will participate in the containment efforts by canceling church services and all events previously scheduled (CCIG leader training, corporate prayer, etc.) at our physical campus this weekend, and we are postponing the Embrace women’s conference that was scheduled for next weekend.
Please join us via our online service this Sunday at 10 a.m. for a unique time of worship and a life-giving word prepared by Pastor Robert Reid!
One of our pastors will be monitoring the online chat during the life-stream for you to share prayer requests and any needs you may have. Please also feel free to go to www.cci.church/prayer-request for your specific prayer needs. You can also give online.
Also, all weekday and weeknight classes for this coming week will be cancelled or postponed.
We believe this is the most caring and loving response and decision that we can make for our community.
By the way, just because we’re taking a break from physically gathering together doesn’t mean we’re taking a break from loving and worshiping Jesus with all of our hearts and loving our neighbors!
We know that many are feeling anxious about these events. We encourage everyone to take appropriate caution, but as followers of Jesus we should never give in to fear—but, stand firmly in all things, with faith.
Let’s reflect on the truth of Psalm 91 and these words of Jesus in Mark 4:39-41
We will continue to monitor this situation and keep you updated regarding next weeks’ Sunday service.
We love you all and ask God’s gracious protection for you and your families’ well-being and for all those who have been affected by this virus. We also are praying for our beloved medical community as they deal with the impact of this crisis. Let’s all ASK together for healing and a cure from heaven!
Love,
Pastor Brad
